Cell Broadcast Center (CBC)

The WINGCON Cell Broadcast Center (CBC) is fully integrated into the WINGCON RMC. It can be used to broadcast text messages to all mobile devices located in a specific geographic area. Cell broadcast works similarly to teletext. It sends messages periodically on specified pages. The service is particularly interesting for GSM-R operations because it enables railway companies to deliver warning messages and emergency alerts as well as other useful information to multiple subscribers simultaneously.

Cell Broadcast messages can be sent on different channels and cover broadcast areas of various size. The messages are targeted not only to specific geographical areas, but also to sets of subscribers who have subscribed to receive such broadcast messages on pre-defined channels.

The WINGCON CBC is fully integrated into the modular WINGCON RMC and can also be offered along with other text and media messaging applications as single system.
